Duncan Harris started his organic vineyard and distillery in the Swan Valley in 1998. He uses his certified organic grapes to make a preservative free wine specifically for making spirit.
Once the wine is added to the pot-still the resulting liquor is re-distilled to make an eau de vie or pisco, water of life, of about 70% alcohol. So, Harris organic spirit is made from certified organic grapes.
From teh potstill spirit, the alcohol can be aged in oak for a minimum of 2 years to make Brandy. Duncan also makes high strength vodkas for tinctures and an unwooded brandy for flower essences.

In the vineyard our aim is to enhance soil bio-diversity and maintain the soil fertility
so the organic grapes can thrive. We do not use any artesian or scheme water to irrigate our vines, only from the sky.
We believe that not using harmful chemical; pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilisers, our land will be better for our children's future.
We believe in art and science of wine-making, such that a minimal approach is better to make organic spirits.
Our purpose is to care for the soil we grow our grapes on, and from them make great organic vodka and brandy.
